Causing Factors presents a duality of production roles, bridging the physical reality of the set with the constructed reality of post-production. As an Assistant Location Sound engineer, my primary duty was to capture the cleanest possible dialogue and room tone, ensuring a grounded sonic foundation amidst the chaos of a sci-fi set.

"Recontextualizing the tension of 'Better Call Saul' into a futuristic setting required breaking the score down to its textural DNA."
Score & Design

In post-production, the challenge shifted to world-building. I designed a palette of non-existent technologies, focusing on the weight and texture of future machinery rather than standard 'laser' tropes. The atmosphere is dense, filled with subsonic hums that suggest a world running on massive, unseen power.

A unique aspect of this project was the adaptation of the score from Better Call Saul. Instead of a direct cover, I deconstructed the iconic motifs—the dry percussion, the uneasy strings—and processed them through spectral resonators. This recontextualization retained the original's psychological tension but placed it firmly within a cold, metallic sci-fi environment.
